A hydrocyclone sand separator, also called a hydrocyclone filter, is a device used to separate sand and other solid particles from water based on their density differences. It works by creating a centrifugal force within a cylindrical chamber, causing heavier particles, like sand (50 microns or larger), to be pushed to the outer walls and collected at the bottom, while lighter particles, such as water, are forced upwards and discharged from the top. These separators are commonly used in irrigation systems, industrial processes, and water treatment facilities to remove suspended solids from water.
